I was looking at my files and I didn't see a widespread frost map like this for the NorthEast in 2012 in September. In fact it looked like it was out West and Mid West more.

By State:

Freeze Warning: AK, ME, MN, NH, NY, VT
Freeze Watch: ME
Frost Advisory: MA, ME, MI, MN, NH, NY, PA, VT, WI

Current Watches and Warnings

NWS Burlington
CONFIDENCE IS HIGH THAT THE GROWING SEASON WILL END FOR MANY BY TUESDAY MORNING.

Current temps and wind chill values across parts of the Northern Hem..

Keep in mind the time difference but it looks like the Arctic air is bleeding one way. Down to about 45N in North America and about 57N in Asia.
