photos from the rest of the ride. Going up...

I like the combination of flowers with the hills in leaf

Wood construction

Dirt road

Entering Massachusetts. I assume the state marker is from 1896.

Steep downhill followed on the dirt road below. A bit later was a sharp curve. Rode it too fast and went straight off the road. Yikes! Lucky it was just tall grass, so I was fine.

At the bottom of the hill

Random factory

Nice reflection

Clouds cleared up slightly

^^^Beautiful, the combination of fall foliage and hills/mountains is something I'd like to see in person.

Wow, the colours there are beautiful. Everything is still pretty much green here, I'm almost wondering if they are ever going to change!

This mild and cloudy weather is no good at all for vivid colours. We're about the same as this time last year though, but I doubt we'll be catching up to late October in terms of colours.

We've already lost the battle. Dry conditions throughout the summer and autumn, lack of sunshine recently, a few hard freezes and sudden strong winds made the foliage the poorest in many years. Only yellow leaves falling, some trees hanging on with a green-yellow mix, and some essentially bare already.

Excaept that today actually had more sunshine hours than the entire last 7 days of colder than average weather.

Seems like it's your beloved cold weather which was the cloudiest period of the autumn thus far.

Lovely colours today, and not everything was dull grey, black and brown for once.

It did, but that isn't what I'm talking about. This month has been mild and also rather dull so far overall, regardless of which days were sunnier/cooler. If it was like list year - cold and sunnier than average - then it'd be better.
