I'm not going there for the weather, but everything else. If only weather was considered, I'd take the tropical island. If I want to experience -30C, I can drive 4 hours north and hope for the best.

I'd go to an Antarctic base in a heartbeat, and if I had to just pick one it would be the South Pole station. I would pick Vostok, but since I don't speak Russian I'd probably have an easier time of it at the South Pole.

I'd be bored in 15 minutes at either place.

I'd take the tropical island since it isn't cold - assuming broadband is there.
