Friends went to Wellington recently, came back home this evening, told me it was very cloudy, cold, windy and at times wet there. Lucky buggers. They told me the bright sun here hurt their eyes! I'm so envious of NZ having all the lovely changeable weather whilst we, here, get stuck with horrible sunny, dry and cold westerly weather *thumbs down*
Don't get too excited about NZ's recent changeability - which has been almost off the scale over the last 4 weeks. Sooner or later a more anticyclonic regime will come back - meanwhile one lives with fond memories of the Jan-March phase.
Why are you so obsessed with Sydney? It's over 500 miles from you, it's hardly local is it. Why do you care so much that it has better weather?
In fact it's the same distance as I am from Lyon, which has a July and August much warmer than any month in Melbourne or Sydney.
