This question just came to my mind. What is the place with the lowest average diurnal variation on earth (meaning the lowest difference between average monthly maximum temperature and average monthly minimum temperature)... which month it is doesn't matter...

Any suggestions?

If all weather stations are included, then probably one of the offshore rigs in the North Sea.

Hong Kong is a contender, the diurnal range there is even lower than in Singapore.

There are many places with a maritime climate, which have a lower diurnal range than Hong Kong. I wonder, if there is a permanantly inhabited place with a lower diurnal range than 3C in one month.

Cherrapunji - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 3.9°C in July
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Ko...hy_and_climate - 3.9°C in February
Copenhagen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 3.9°C in January

Can anyone find a lower diurnal range for a given month than that magical 3.9°C number?
