I would be seriously pissed off right now if I lived anywhere in coastal northern Norway and we were still getting slushy mild crap this far into the winter.
Even if there is some slush, Tromsø still has 65 cm of snow on the ground (100m asl).
Mo i Rana has 30 cm snow on the ground in the town/sea level, and even 80 cm at Storforshei (110m) some 19 km from town.
Even with this mild weather, they can look forward to a white Christmas
But not in Bodø - no snow at sea level there
And no snow here and very little hope for a white Christmas

Well that's very impressive, considering how often you give Tromsø as being +2 or +3 or something and all that rain they had not long ago. I bet with getting borderline temperatures like that so often the differences in snow depths between coastal and slightly-inland/slightly-elevated areas can be huge!
I'd be interested in following those Norwegian snow depths over the winter actually - where do you get them from?
I've just had a look at a timelapse webcam for Tromsø to see what midday looks like during the polar night. If the skies are clear, it seems midday there is still bright enough for it to feel like a normal day for a couple of hours:
