Not in this case. The high pressure system was totally cloud free over the UK except just two counties where the cloud was hanging over all day as per this satellite:
Guess where I live? Right under the CENTER of that cloud which persisted there all day, the only cloud in the country. I could have driven 20 miles to get away from the bloody cloud.
