who cares, freezing nights in winter are a small price to pay for guaranteed proper summers.

Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney were in the lower 80's, Brisbane and Gold Coast were in the upper 80's, Darwin was in the 90's, and Alice Springs was over 100*.
These temps we are getting now are over 10 degrees below average. Normal Feb averages are around the low 80's mark. The weather we are getting now is a freak event as temps aare 10-20F below average, with these temps lasting weeks.

Also we were hotter than Sydney is December and January:

Sydney......... Dec: 76, Jan: 79, Feb to date: 76
Melbourne .... Dec: 80, Jan: 83, Feb to date: 79

Sydney has cracked 30C/86F only 2 times since December 1, Brisbane 18 times while Melbourne has 22 times. Out here where I live (SE suburbs) it has exceeded 30C/86F 28 times.

But I think there are frequent 20C/68F days in your summer like what we're getting now.

No, that's in May, June and September. In July and August the temperature is usually (27 days of the month) above 22C any day. Of course there are crappy days also

COLD here. It's -4 and the windchill is -29. It's supposed to get colder by the hour and bottom out at about 6 am. I just can't wait for tomorrow morning.
You can take the humidity. I'm from Phx, AZ and I can't wait to be back. I'm coming home in early July hopefully (as my last post says)... And I'm getting out in Oct, so I'll be back home soon enough... It's just taking WAY TOO LONG!!!

Sunny again, but still frigid. Probably around 15 degrees right now. The weekend is back to normal, highs in the upper 30s, lower 40s.
