I know it got at least over 86* today because at 5:00 it was 86*. This is so cool. I love it warm and it's also very clear; strange for these warm temps. This is the clearest it has been in weeks. Oddly, the humidity is still 35%. Seems like nothing for most, but during heat waves, it is usually 15% or lower.

I am a little disappointed that Portland, OR and Medford, OR are warmer than SoCal, but w/e. At least our winters are warmer.

And, Jammie, you asked Garson about below 40* weather. Well, for me below 40* is extremely cold. We didn't go below 40* this winter, but last winter on my way to school I did experience a 34*. I thought I was gonna die. I mean, no one in LA has winter clothes appropriate so girls at my school were wearing two leggings and jeans with two shirts and either one or two sweatshirts. Guys were wearing long underwear and sweatpants or sweatpants under jeans with a long sleeve shirt under a sweatshirt under a hooded sweatshirt. Most kids were also wearing those hat things (I don't even know what they are called) and girls had scarves and mittens. I believe the high was only in the low 50's that day, like 52*, which is outrageous for SoCal beaches. The valleys and I.E. were in the upper 20's that night and highs were only mid 50's. That is the coldest I have ever experienced here. I hope I never do again, unless I move somewhere meant to be cold.

And to marmac, why not move to Portland, OR? I mean, their winters are rainy, snow and cold, but not as cold as where you are and the summers are nice and green and in the 80's and 90's. There are several other nice cities in Portland as well.

Our heat wave is forecast to last the weekend. Yesterdays highs broke all weather records for May for Humboldt county. Our highs are normally in the mid 70's in May and we hit 100 here in McKinleyville and Trinidad here on the coast, about 5 miles inland in Fieldbrook and Blue Lake it got to 104 and 103. These temperatures are 30 degrees higher than normal. Today it was 87.
