I need to have an old fashioned meeting of the minds with our weatherman. A few hours ago the temp had dropped to 73 and now after dark it has risen to 76. Something is wrong with this picture....

According to the weather channel it is. Rained some earlier. Clouds must be trapping heat being released from the ground and lakes?

Exactly . Which is why I hate cloudy nights!! They are a thermal layer in the nighttime.....think about it as a "blanket" keeping the temperature warm

Cloudy would be ok if they are producing rain. When not a bummer except in January maybe.

Yes....I don't mind cloud and rain. But if it's just a blanket over us keeping in the warmth and humdity......then it's not good.
