Mild, cloudy and wet sums this month up. It's actually the wettest month of the year by a considerable margin and the wettest since December 2012 (111.5mm).

Melbourne, Australia October 2013

Gay.

11 days in a row under 20C, below average sunshine, no thunderstorms and the average high is actually colder than September's. Absolutely appalling considering how warm it's been just to our north. What a disgrace.

Corvallis, OR, Hyslop Field:

Average Max; 63.1, 1.4 degrees below average
Average Min; 39.6, 2.6 degrees below average
Total precipitation; 1.17, 2 inches below average.

Maximum temperature was 75 while the minimum temperature for the month was 28. At my place we hit 74 and 30.

We had measurable precipitation on 9 days this month with the average being 12. 5 of those days came in the first 6 days of the month. After our soggy September we appear to have returned to our pattern of dryer than normal weather and enjoyed an unusually long stretch of very fine if cool weather. Just yesterday my wife pulled out the last of our watermelon, and we are still taking red peppers. Most unusual since we hit 30 degrees (-1) at my place just the other day.

October resumed a 10 month trend toward dryer weather and while significant rain is progged to hit our region starting Sunday, I can't yet say how long the wet spell will last. While I would hate to see the gully washer we had all last November, we will need much above normal rainfall both this month coming up and December to come close to our normal yearly rainfall.

Quite dull and insignificant, with a cool spell in the middle. The max and mean temp were above average, but the low temp below. Sunshine hours probably around 100, bringing us over the 2000 mark. Despite rainier conditions in the end of the month (all last 10 days had at least a trace), we are still 165 mm away from the average.

Only 41% of the average precipitation, making it the driest month this year.
Quite similar to this year's April.
