My most memorable November weather event was when we had a thunderstorm and pea size hail in November of 2010. Both are pretty rare here any time of the year.
November of 2006. That was the wettest month ever at SeaTac, with over 15 inches of rain! There was some serious flooding that took out a lot of roads around Mt. Rainier. And then near the end of the month there was a cold snap with some snow and a high of 27F.
Probably the cold spell of late November 2010 with ice days and lows in the minus double digits.
Just this. Up until November 2010, snow in November in Glasgow was absolutely unthinkable (even a light morning dusting). But not only was there snow, the temperatures were significantly colder than the lowest temperature that would normally be recorded over an entire year.
On November 1st, 1950, it reached 81F/27C.... But that what before my time... However, the city’s second-highest November temperature, 79F/26C, which was set November 5th, 1978, when I was 6 years old.
On the flip side, on November 13th, 1986, the low was 7F/-14C. All time low was on November 28th, 1930, when the temperature dipped to -3F/-19C.
Winter Storm "Athena", which was last year, directly after Hurricane Sandy (in late Oct).
Storms of that caliber are unheard of for November, and it just added to the destruction.
