A cloudy day at around 28-30C (82F-86F) with a relative humidity hovering around 30%-35 - Is it muggy to you or more on the dry side?
I just hear that the higher the temp is the more humid it will feel even if the RH isn't that high, true?
EDIT: That's just typical Western Sydney summer weather (I based the above on today's temperature). Right now it's 32C (87F), the dewpoint is 12C (53F) and humidity is still 30%.
86F with a 30 pct RH gives a dew point of around 50F so that is considered pretty comfortable by most people's standards and to me not humid.... I am a meteorologist and I prefer to go by dew points....often 60 dew pt and above it can feel muggy....65 and higher yes quite humid to most people.

How do you calculate relative humidity? Also, how do you find out the dew point if you know relative humidity and temp?

To me, it is on the dry side of the humidity values or what many people would consider to be comfy in terms of mugginess, as I just said, this is what I consider to be a relatively dry heat, I would consider a temperature of 82 to 86 with humidity values on par with Dew Points in the low or especially the Middle 70's to be truly a muggy 86 degrees or 82 degrees. I think with humidity at that level with those temperatures would translate into Dew Points in the 50's, which is ideal and not all that common during summer in Indianapolis, more often this type of weather occurs after but not always following the Tropical Style 70+ Degree Dew Points during the height of summer in Indianapolis, Indiana and much of the Central and Lower Midwestern U.S.A. Just a quick note: if 86 degrees Fahrenheit and a rh value of 30 equals a Dew Point of 50 F, than I must say that this kind of heat overall here in Indianapolis, Indiana is indeed pretty rare, as when we get temperatures in the mid 80's, even when the humidity is on the comfortable side, from many of my observations, the The humidity and the Dew Point has only from what I have seen Gone to 50 Degrees for a Dew Point or Lower which Is considered to be very low for Indianapolis in summer, and the respites from the Humidity that we usually get more often than not do not go below Dew Points in the Mid to upper 50's Fahrenheit range and those don't usually last for very lengthy periods many if not most summers either, usually not longer than a week or so at a time. In an Average summer in Indianapolis the humidity usually has Dew Points in the 60 to 70 Degrees Fahrenheit Range, with occasional bursts of Dew Points relatively closer to that of the Gulf Coast states(I have seen and also experienced this kind of humidity for as long as two weeks at a time) alternating with Dry and crisp air from Canada or on occasion Dry air from the Desert Southwest during the Summers here in Indianapolis.

Rozenn answered it that is what I used... now in surface observations you have the temp/dew pt and then calculate RH....many calculators for that. For meteorologists dew points are much better as a tool for moisture in the airmass.
