Probably cooler minimums in Geneva because it is a sunnier month. It also has nearly double the temperature increase relative to the previous month, than London.

I think Geneva would feel more springlike in March than London would. Although they're both clearly in spring mode by then,

But then April is barely any different to London, with similar temps and sunshine. Plus the fact that plants and wildlife will be in spring mode a lot earlier here than in Geneva.

Just looking at March alone, I would have to say that Geneva is more Springlike, just because the temperature is changing at a quicker rate, and it's sunnier.

It's hard to think of anyone living in Geneva thinking of March as a winter month, when the maximums are nearly 7C warmer than the coldest winter month.

Well, it depends on how we define what is winter. I would roughly say that winter in my area lasts from 1st of December till 1st of March and as well definying Dec, Jan and Feb as winter months would be logical as these months here have day day average highs below zero and as well every child knows them as the winter months.

The first date with +1c daytime high in this area is 6th December, the first date with -1c daytime high is 10th December,
the first date with 0c daytime high is 5th March, the first date with +1c daytime high is 8th March.

Of course, that everything depends heavily on years, it can be colder that average and milder than average before the "right time".

Where I live, roughly speaking, the entire months of December, January, and February. I would say if I had to give an exact date, about November 28.

In central Ohio, we usually get our first real cold snap around mid-November. Whether that means highs in the 40s and/or lows in the teens and 20s varies.

Here in Phoenix, it's generally winter by Thanksgiving weekend. A big cold front comes through usually on Thanksgiving Day or on Black Friday most years and drops us down to 60s/40s from the 70s-80s/50s we usually see up to Thanksgiving week
