I have lived in both areas (St Tammany Parish + St Pete). Tampa is a bit warmer in the winter. NO gets hotter. St Pete is cooled by the bay and gulf so it does not get over 100 degrees. NO does get over 100 on a regular basis. NO also seems to have more humidity. So bottom line is that both cities are hot and muggy most of year. NO is just a bit hotter and muggier. Tampa on the other hand has milder winters. NO has very mild winters but winter in Tampa is like early fall in most other areas.
Both have seen subtle changes in precipitation and sunshine data, and the HKO source has been taken away. Now feature percent of possible sunshine columns and relative humidity for Tampa.
New Orleans is in fact more humid in every month, impressive.

Impressive indeed, considering those humidity normals were means of 3-hourly measurements.
tampa for warmth, bit less rainfall, and more sunshine. Constant thunderstorms and rain is the one thing i dislike about humid subtropical and tropical climates.

That's the MAIN reason I love these climates! If I only wanted mild temperatures I would just go to San Diego.
It confirms up my reason for making this thread - as the winter is exactly halfway between the two. However, it seems to me that the rainfall and sun pattern is a closer resemblance to Florida.
