I said the maps shown at the beginning of the thread didn't seem right. They showed forecasted temps significantly higher than we are having now..

The lowest point in the entire Northern Hemisphere of -25°C & -20°C temps at 850mb is currently in Tennessee and Mississippi.
I've been watching this happen since November, each one with a further push south and never happening in Europe. But this has to be the bottom point now. I can't imaging those temps going south more.
Then again... I did say that in December with the -10°C line which is currently near the Gulf coast!
