Something every American guy must have done at least once is wear shorts when its cold outside .

So, whats the coldest temperature at which you have worn shorts.

My coldest is 30 F while taking out the trash. I wore a jacket on top though.

I regularly wear shorts when its above 55 F.

I'm not sure what the exact temperature was, but one day in gym class in high school we spent the entire hour outside in our shorts and t-shirts when it was cloudy, windy, and just above freezing - probably not much more than 5°C, certainly less than 10°C. Pretty chilly!

That's the coldest temperature at which I've worn shorts for a significant period of time (i.e. not just running out for a minute to take out the trash or whatever).

WHile taking out the trash or bringing in groceries? -35c

actually wearing shorts though for more than a few seconds would be -2c going for a run this past spring while it was snowing outside.

It was -16F/-27C, with -40F/-40C wind chills, and I was outside in shorts last week. Only for a few minutes though. My automatic starter would turn the engine over in my truck. So I had to run out and crank it a couple times. Then I ran back in the house.
