If I turned the A/C off while on vacation during the summer (I live in Texas), it would get up to 40C degrees (105) in the house. 30C (86) degrees is a good A/C setting while on vacation during summer, 15C (59) during winter vacation while gone (can't have pipes freezing while gone). While at the house, you might as well be comfortable: 21C (70) degrees heat winter, 26C (79) degrees A/C summer.

I live in the southeastern USA and don't ever run my heat intentionally. I do have it set to kick on 60F (15.5 C) per the request of my apartment management to prevent pipes from freezing. I can count on one hand the number of times it has kicked on this year.

The first 15°C days outside in spring are going to seem hot to me having lived in a cold building like this.

13.5°C in the heated room today. Other rooms below 10°C.

Yesterday's heating cost £2 to keep temperatures at this level.
