The vegetation in your climate is atypical because your winters are relatively mild and short, and your summer days are extremely long because of your latitude. If we look at my own climate of Saskatoon, where May and September both average 11.5 C, the vegetation has strong subarctic influences as well as temperate (humid continental) influences. You can't draw a line at the May/September 10C isotherm and say everything south of the line has nothing to do with subarctic climates. It just gradually fades away.

Most subarctic climates are in the high latitudes, so the length of day can't be a factor here.

Falun, Sweden is nearly there.

Falun - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Falun is considered to have a continental subarctic climate (Köppen Dfc).
On average, the coldest month is January with an average low temperature of −11 °C (12.2 °F). Winter is the longest season lasting approximately from mid-November til the end of March.[5] With an average high temperature of 22 °C (71.6 °F), July is the warmest month. The most precipitation occurs during the summer months of July and August. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Falun is −40.0 °C (−40.0 °F).[6]"

Most of the climates being posted don't have very hot summers. I'm more interested in somewhere with hot summers that nearly meets the <4 months <10° threshold than somewhere that is by definition subarctic but doesn't have very hot summers.

How about the Canadian prairies. They can go from cool and wet to very hot and dry in a matter of days.
