After what occurred today in the AZ Legislature you should have added a 'H" as a option as well for "hateful".

I'm pretty familiar with the place and the "funk" factor here is awesome. A once-upon-a-time mining town, it is now an artist's colony. That said, I could still live here. Climate is actually quite good all around for Arizona. Sunshine hours are not mentioned in the Wiki article but I have seen other sources put it at around 2900 hours.
Sitting at between 4800 and 6000 feet, Jerome has a fairly varied climate and you can get warmer and cooler than the official station situated near lower downtown. I like the dormant season and I have seen fruit trees do quite well in the alkaline soil that is the norm here. Peaches and apricots for the most part but cherries, plums and apples also thrive. So does Ailanthus but that's another story. It's not all that wet in Jerome but wet enough and Mingus Mountain provides a nearly year around water source. In any case they get about twice what Cottonwood, 6 miles away and nearly 3000 feet lower in elevation can cobble together.
Warm summers, mild winters with plentiful sunshine but cold enough for my favorite foodstuffs, and an early spring that a waterlogged Oregonian like me can truly appreciate are only three reasons I like this climate.
But for the wind which blows up in April-May and again in November I would give this fascinating little village a solid A+
A-/A

Summers are too hot, but they look sort of like our summers, minus the humidity, so that's somewhat good. Winters are lousy with not nearly enough snow. But the possibility of some snow in winter saves them from an F. I give it a D.

B-. Winters colder than I would like and those record lows would prohibit most palm species from growing there. But I like the sunshine and the fact that it's not completely arid.

C+. Not at all one of the best in AZ, but still far better than the desert population centres/lowlands. Could be wetter year-round and colder in winter and/or a tad cooler in summer.

D. Summer is too warm, but how did it dip below freezing in June and August .

BTW, we had a gay athlete in our high school named Jerome. He was one of the best athletes in south India.
