With winter season, i'm referring to the period of December to February for the northern hemisphere and
June-August for the southern hemisphere.

If the absolute minimum occured outside of winter or your place doesn't experience a winter at all then just post the absolute minimum in the past 12 months. If you have the data post your state or country lowest temperature during this winter season as well.

For Bremerhaven:
Officially lowest: -9.8°C (14.4°F) on January 26th 2014
Lowest of my weather station: -10.4°C (13.3°F) on January 26th 2014

For Norderney Island
Officially lowest: -7.6°C (18.3°F)

Lowest temperature in Germany this season 2013-2014
Bertsdorf-Hörnitz (Saxony): -19.8°C (-3.6°F) also on January 26th 2014

This winter is awful and we haven't seen the end of it.

-45c/-49F was the low. I am talking during the day. This is without wind chill

For the rest it has been pretty much between -20c/-4F and -30c/-22

Funny thing is that we had one week that it was close to 0C (low 30'sF) and people were outside in their shirt sleeves and driving around with their windows rolled down. Honest to God.

That is Alberta Canada. My goal is to move and never see snow again in my life.

For DJF, 4C in January. That's quite high given that Jan avg low is around 5-6C. The yearly minimum is usually about 0-1C.

For the entire cool season, 3.7C on 22 Nov 2013. It is a rare occurrence here to have the lowest temp recorded in November for a given winter.
