How strange. That's basically the same as the biggest diurnal range ever recorded anywhere in the UK and it's happened right by the coast with no inversion layer or mountain valley in sight
Yes, spring tend to be unsettled and mild rather than warmth. From what I've seen, I think the Balkan countries in SE Europe tend to be warm and settled during spring, whereas SW Europe (Iberian peninsula, France, Benelux, British Isles) often experience unsettled, cold springs.
Italy, Germany and Switzerland would be somewhere in the middle.
The last 2 springs were very stable and sunny here, short sleeves weather from April onward. 2014 was more like this year. That said, we're not very cold either.

Still 23C on the northern coast of Malta right now (my PWS is reading 23.1C)
Those names of towns are interesting. Like a mix of Arabic and Italian I guess. I wouldn't know how to pronounce half of them lol. Is the culture of Malta more Italian or Arabic?
At 4:10 AM my PWS in Altea marks 20.4°C... Javea and Teulada have about 19.5°C right now (AVAMET), Alicante airport AEMET 19.1°C
