Hi,

So we have ours first 30+ °C day of 2017. Well....its pretty hot. I wish to have friday or saturday instead of f... monday . Damn it. Tomorrow we expected some t-storms. I would like to take shot of some nice Arcus or brutal CG. Or maybe brutal HP supercell . Just dreaming. Conditions will not be favourable for this type of convection. Well....we will see what mother nature brings.

Today's highs across my country.

Peak temperature at 33,7 °C. 1,3°C below national record for May (35 °C).
From left to right >>> Station - altitude + acronym for region - peak temperature °C.

Apparently my parents' neighbors' house has been hit by lightning about 1 week ago. Would've loved to see that.

Not sure how often we reach that, I'd say probably a dozen times in a normal summer. Going towards the swampland just north of us, I'm sure this happens like 40 days a year at least.
Maybe there are crops nearby locally adding extra humidity in the air.

Btw Pontoise is at 49N.

Today's maximum temperatures in Europe. In Spain parts of the south and the north were under average but seasonable. Specially in Sevilla-Córdoba zone with temps up to -6ºC under the June average.

In Europe... yet again well above average in most of France (but less than yesterday), all the way to northern Italy, much of Sardinia, much of Corsica and also much of Mallorca in Spain.

Well above in most of Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belarus... with record breaking temperatures in some parts of central-northern Europe.

Also a mention for the "chilly" temps in much of the Greek islands. Poor Baba, he is now in Crete but it didn't went above 20ºC today. For tomorrow the forecast shows rain and 21ºC.

Always make me wonder why Indian/Middle Eastern citizens move to America.. jumping over two continents and an ocean to get there. Bit much.

Exactly, they'd never recover from that jetlag.

Well, you can turn it into sarcasm if you want.. but it is a little bizarre going the whole way to America when they can go to Western Europe or Singapore etc. I guess maybe his father was a surgeon or something.

There's plenty of reasons to move to America.
