And? What exactly does winter have to do with this?

Because you all seem to enjoy making fun of us when we say that 30c is 'hot', but in winter it's the opposite. 33c happens every 2-3 years.

Also, I don't think this is true. Many Americans including all my family that lived prior to AC dealt with this heat every summer and even hotter. How do you know they "struggled"? They coped with it, and even worked in offices and chemical plants with no AC as my mom and dad, grandparents, etc. did.

Right now it is 86F with a dewpoint of 60F and feels a lot better than yesterday. And not a thunderstorm yet around here, even yesterday. I haven't seen a thunderstorm in Philly yet this summer. What is the point of high dewpoints if you get zero tstorms?
Dewpoint of 60 is well below average in philly. Keep in mind, London only gets really hot with low dewpoints. Certainly some days, generally cooler ones will have high Dewpoint in London but 30c with a Dewpoint of 20c plus just doesn't happen in london.

And our coldest summer on record is warmer than your warmest so there.

It has certainly helped the US South with its rapid development.

Phillys mildest winters would be as warm to warmer than London. In Raleigh our warmest winters match places in the med minus the freezing lows that we still get. Not sure where in the US he is talking about when he says our mildest winters are record breakingly cold. Honestly this debate is just which climate is better. It's been done to death like ariete said.

"you all" is incorrect first off. Where did we "make fun" of you with these temps?

Our warmest winters are warmer than their "avg" winter, but so what? It doesn't say much in the scheme of things of what the winter weather will be day in and day out.

B87 just can't help but constantly brag about London's mild winter.

Unlike some of us here expressing sympathy for him with his UK summer weather complaining, he doesn't extend the courtesy in winter to us on this side and only likes to rub it in.
