It was warmer overall, but got very chilly in the end. I've posted this before, in 10 days the highs fell from 17-18 to 8-11C, in 12 days from 21 to 10C. I've posted this before: http://ogimet.com/cgi-bin/gsynres?la...=DIR&Send=Send

Luckily, since 2000 9 Septembers have been above average, 3 average and 1 below. And the air frost possibility has dropped from 45% to 33%. So good luck for you as well getting and a below average September. Though this is a bit off-topic.

September is the most likely month in Turku to be above average, good material to challenge Leeds and York.

the nasty forest fire in västmanland is still going strong it seems. 100km^2 of forest have burnt down. smoke from the fire visible as far north as arjeplog, southern lapland. just look at this satelite picture.

I don't know. I only have the data from -98. Since that it was the 2006 one: http://ogimet.com/cgi-bin/gsynres?la...=DIR&Send=Send

13.8C in means.

The warmest Septembers are from >1934, 1949, 1955, 1948 and 2006, so that is what you can get. The 4 warmest are only on paper and the FMI won't do that on request.

Our warmest September was officially was in 1931 with an average max 79.1F/26.2C, a mean of 71.2F/21.8C at the official station at the UofC just a mile from the lake. I can't find what MDW data it's missing from this website. But my suburb's had an average max of 83.2F/28.4C in 1931 with 13 days above 86F/30C, 9 days above 90F/32.2C and 2 days that reached 97F/36.1C.

In Sept 2005, MDW have an average high of 81.2F/27.3C and a mean of 71.7F/22.1C

The FMI has been in the involved with the NASA interplanetary research and has a lot of agreed commitements, and the FMI is something the Finnish people take pride in, but everything is going down the drain, except education. But anyway, if the FMI meteorogists have to dig through many records, it will cost you 4$! Due to the generous funding, Finland released as the only Nordic nation the 1981-2010 normals, and this is also from a certain pride. Finland have never missed a normal or will ever miss one.

Regarding almost everything else, this is not Scandinavia anymore, it's becoming more and more like Italy. Healthcare, social security, and other. "We don't have the time to answer the phone, please wait, call tomorrow".

I just can envy how Sweden and Norway are happily getting better, while Denmark and Finland are stagnating on terrible levels. Yes, better off than Spain, Portugal and Greece, but the situation is broiling here as well. This is fuck, this is shit, this is terrible. Especially the younger generations have a 20-25% unemployment rate. How do you put this? Oh, an AAA+ credit rating, didn't give a single workplace.

How has this to do with weather? Nothing. But anyway, we're going onthe goddamn drain to nothing, and it hurts that youngsters like me would have a guaranteed job just 5 years ago. And to add, our coalition government can't agree on anything. Nothing. So ****ing tired of this shiiiitte that I must to emigrate to Sweden.

Here is what the rain totals looked last night. Looks as if the city and adjacent western suburbs got hit the hardest. I barely saw a drop.
