So you don't respect the notion of distinct seasons? I like cool crisp air, and I also like hot and muggy air. Well, let's have 90F on Christmas Day while we're at it!

I would like 70F+ dew points as standard until late September.
I have a vision that ChicagoaG will post the GFS temps for Midwest on the 8th. 30s in Minnesota. Some cold air bleeds down from the pole.
Possible but not likely. Was just looking at the forecast for international falls, mn. They seem to get a little warmer starting on the 8th with sun, highs in the 70s and lows in the mid 40s. Kinda funny looking at their forecast because their current summer forecast for the next 10 days resembles some of my forecasts in the dead of winter lol!
Interesting forecast comparison. Yeah gfs probably overdoing the cold. I haven't really been following but just saw something that caught my eye with the upper flow . Maybe upper 39s which isn't all that rare

Ok so im still learning all this weather stuff. So if the sky is clear over night, then the low temp will be lower than if it was cloudy? I observed this a lot this past winter. On clear nights, our lows got down into the 20s and teens in the outlying areas a few nights but that would lead to a sunny bright day the next morning and throughout the day where the highs reached 70s and 80s. If we had a cloudy night, the lows wouldnt be as low but the temps the next day wouldnt be as high unless the clouds moved out or the sun burnt them off or we got SW winds out of Mexico. I may have all this wrong in terms of my understanding of how weather works but i will say that our temperature swings this past winter were unbelievable. If you look at a chart, it looks like a roller coaster ride with steep drops. 80 one day, 40 the next, then 50, 60, 70, then back down to 40 with a cold front, then back to recovering before another front. Sun burn one day, frost bite the next! I truly hope that next winter is more stable and not as extreme. We broke every record in Texas weather history this past year it felt like lol!

Think blanket. Clouds are like a blanket at night keeping things warmer not letting the warmth escape. Clear skies lets all the surface warmth lift up and out which in turn cools the surface. Opposite during the day since clouds block the sunlight and clear skies allows the sun to warm things up.
Was a nice evening here. Grilled a couple steaks... I overcooked it, so I had to dump a lot of ketchup and douse it with giardiniera
Looks fun! Nothing better than a summer night filled with cooking out and fun outside. Lots of fireworks out here in the country on Friday and saturday nights out by the lake.
Hope all my city data peeps have a good night! Talk to y'all in the morning!
