Okay, it's still April but since it only have about 3 days left, why not make this thread now? Discuss your weather in April. Anything unusual?

Okay start with mine. April is part of the transition period so you'll see both days where it's totally overcast and days where the sky is clear.

So far there's 25 days this month where the temperature goes at least 90. All days have slightly above average highs and lows are mostly average.

There's our "heatwave" last week. The temperature differences are very subtle (only 1 or 2 degrees) but with the high humidity, the difference in comfort is noticeable. Not to mention the clear sky, which makes the sunlight very intense.

April so far:

0.2 C below average, nothing interesting in the way of temperatures. What's actually notable is the heavy rain on the 3rd.

Here's the weather review of April from my own weather station:

Warmer than average (about 3 K now) and precipitation is about average, which has been not the case in the past April month which were mostly bone dry, recording only about half of the average.

The only unusual thing would be the number of thunderstorm days- we had four days yet, while the average number of thudnerstorms in April is less than 0.5 days.

19.5C will be the record high here. 19.6C in Helsinki. Lows have been cool, I think we'll end up with an average around freezing, highs around 10.5C.

Sunshine will be close to 300 hours.

Our highest temperature of the month was 28C but only for one day. Other than that our warmest was about 17C, and we've been below average most of the month. Quite a few days have been as much as 10 degrees below average, so over the month we'll probably end up 3-4 degrees below overall.

Using March 1 - April 28 time frame, only 2 years were colder than the average temp of 42.0°F this year for ISP (Islip, NY on Long Island). 1984 & 1992. Records only go back to 1984.

Also.. Last time Islip didn't hit 70 at least in April was in 1998. Only 3 times on record.. 1984 & 1988the other years. Lots of interesting stats lately.

Last time Bridgeport, CT didn't hit 71°F+ was in 2000
