Not nearly as dangerous either. That ice is heavy. Tulsa and OkC look like a war zone today.

The ice is melting of the trees in eastern KS. The freezing rain did not cause many problems at all with branches breaking and power outages because the temperatures were near to above freezing. Now the temperature is 33F but the winds are increasing.

Looks like it might be a rough winter. Every couple of days we are getting a snow or ice storm. We actually have a snow day today. That usually never happens here.

The computer models show a warming trend about 6-7 days from now in the middle of the country.

Ended up with .40 ice and a couple of inches of snow. @0 miles south: 1" of ice, more to the southeast. I-80 East of Des Moines is really, really bad.

Snow looks to be just about finished, so I'm putting on my Yaktrax Moderator cut: Removed URL and going out to see if all that salt did any good.

With all that I wouldn't trade places with parts of Oklahoma, I hope they get past this OK.
