A) Record high is 115F from 1961-06-15. Would have to push it 5F. Wiki figures are from the Executive Airport, but NOWData gives a higher figure. Will need to edit that sometime later.
B) 1974-07-08 had 0.77" of rain, so somewhat plausible, though obviously still freakish
C) Current is 48F on 1983-07-08, and you would have to push that 8F in the middle of summer. Even more likely than the 120F.
D) Although still off the July record low by 2F, this one is actually not too exotic. Don't have immediate access to diurnal temp data.

Option D has actually happened in my area is infact not all that rare in the inland parts of SE Australia and along the Nullabour Plain. Lows under 5C have also occured in the summer months in said locations.

I would think C and D be most likely for Sacramento.

C is a lot more difficult for Sacramento than for rural Australia. Nighttime lows of 55 F are common after daytime highs in the 90s F but lows lower than 45 F are hard to cool down to due to the shorter hours of darkness in July. Despite the low humidity, there are not enough hours after sunset for it to cool down to 40 F at sunrise. A would be far more likely, IMO, during a mega extreme heat wave- daytime high 120 F with a nighttime low around 80 F.

I live in Sacramento, D for sure. The most rare would be A.

General facts that you will never get from reading statistics: On average:

Our heat index temp is almost ALWAYS 3-5 degrees LOWER than actual temp.

Sacramento cools regularly to the mid to upper 50's every night and morning in the summer.

Pretty much you can guarantee a very comfortable, evening, night and morning.

We average 12 days above 100 per year which really feels like about 6 days if you factor in heat index.

At the hottest time of the day the humidity average is 15-20%. Neither bone dry, nor humid.

Factor in a heat index temp: Average high feels like 87 with a low actual average low temp of 56.
