In other news: Does anyone else find Americans obsession with bacon ridiculous? It's good, but it's not THAT good. Usually during breakfast I find the toast and eggs the better part.
Yes it does snow there. It has a polar climate.

If the UK was 5,000 feet we would be permantely covered in snow.

Oh, right. It reached 22C on that day here. The heat took later to arrive here, as it always does.

I'm guessing this might be the biggest difference between Bingley and Heathrow there's ever been:

11 August 2003:

Bingley: 17.7C
Heathrow: 33.7C

The day before was 24.7C Bingley, 37.9C Heathrow. I'd always thought Lerwick was something like 12C that day, but according to tutiempo they got up to a more reasonable 17.5C.

Yeah that August 2003 hot spell was such a dud up here, it's not even funny. July 2014 was warmer - considerably so even. I'm still waiting for August 1990 to be challenged, when we reached 34.4C.

Absolutely. Just another mediocre breakfast food. The least appetizing meal of the day, I might add. I must be missing the bacon gene because I don't understand the obsession.

Bacon is good but I much prefer to have sausage for breakfast.

Internet just went down for a minute or so. Sometimes it does that and I'm offline for much longer, though.

On May 17 this year, Boston had a high of 67°F and Chicopee (a station near me) had a high of 86°F. Photos of day here. About a 100 mile apart, the Boston station is located next to water, so these gaps are more likely in spring than summer when the water's colder. I remember one day in May when it was 80°F here and 50°F in Boston, but I don't remember when it was, perhaps Boston warmed up later so the difference in highs was smaller.

Feburary 18 had a low of -13°F in Chicopee only 17°F in Boston
