That area is beautiful.

And yeah Caesar's Head is easily the best climate in SC. For all southern states I think Blairsville has the best climate in GA, Valley Head for AL, Corinth for MS......I think you catch my drift.

Banner Elk is definitely the best climate in the South. Snowshoe, WV if you count WV as the South.

Nice.

Blairsville, GA comes close also, but narrowly misses it in July/August.

Amazing how different the climate just a state north, but it's also 10 degrees further north and at 1,800 feet in elevation. Just goes to show you how big the South is.

Mount Mitchell is awesome.

I wish they had weather data for more mountain peaks. I'd be interested in seeing Brasstown Bald's climate also.

Mount Leconte is a good one too

West Virginia is fascinating to me because the climate would be totally different without the mountains. At higher elevations, the vegetation truly resembles boreal locations in Canada and Alaska.

I have been many times to the Canaan Valley area in the northern part of the state. That is one of my favorite places, despite having a totally different climate than what I want to live in. It's incredibly peaceful there.

^^ Cool is that close to Davis, WV? Also what time of year did you go?

And yeah, higher elevations of WV definitely have a cool climate (pun intended) lol. The way you're fascinated by WV, I'm fascinated by TN. For a place that south in latitude it sure can get cold there. Knoxville has a record low of -24 F.
