I doubt you even get 5 days.. those Met office mapped averages are not very accurate.. it says that we get a similar amount, and that we average 15 frosts in December apparently
I work as a waiter, and it is therefore impossible for me to take breaks, and I just got paid for the last month, yet they took 8 hours off my pay even though I never took one break
I know I am legally entitled to half an hour break each day, but I did write on my sign in sheet 'no break taken' each day, as I work as a waiter, it is not possible for me to just 'take a break' when I have tables to serve!

To make things worse, my phone has died on me
My old job used to take thirty minutes out of our checks whether we took a break or not.

I know that legally I am entitled to a break, but it seems unfair when I have specifically written 'no break' on my timesheet. I mean I work during peak hours, there is no way I can take a break as it is so busy, we don't have enough staff to cope and it would muck our whole system up In future I will just say that I will take a break during the busiest peak period of 8pm unless they pay me for not taking a break..
Do your bosses encourage you to take the break or is it frowned upon when its busy? I know at my work, taking the breaks is actually compulsory.
It would be frowned upon taking a break during the busy hours, which is my entire shift. Not only that, it would put everyone else under stress as they would have to take my tables, and we are short staffed as it is. In fact, my 'team leader' has prevented people taking breaks during the evening shifts before.
I don't mind not taking a break, as my shifts are 'only' about 6-7 hours normally anyway, and it goes quickly.. there is no point in me taking a break after dinner service at 11pm when all I have to do then is relay tables which takes about 45 minutes
My god damn wifi keeps getting interrupted. I have reset my router every other day, and I'm not sure why!

My mom has been a waitress for 35 years..... It's a damn tough job, especially here in America where the vast majority of your wage comes from tips and not hourly... You have to kiss major ass for those tips.
