I was curious, so I checked flight prices to Honolulu, departing 21st June and returning 2 weeks later.

LHR to HNL Flights | Expedia

£785 return with Air Canada, LHR-YVR-HNL. It's £20 cheaper if you fly via YYC as well. £785 is $1220.

I purposefully chose the same departure date as Owen did with his example.

Best route we did was British Airways from Heathrow to LAX, then Hawaiian Airlines from LAX to Honolulu...

Another time we went from Gatwick to Atlanta, Atlanta to LAX, LAX to Honolulu, that was fun lol & the return flights were Honolulu to San Francisco, San Francisco to Salt lake City, Salt Lake City to Gatwick

We only ever booked our Hawaii trips through a travel agent/package deals anyway, so it works out even cheaper. We even had a weeks cruise round the Hawaiian islands & a week in Waikiki for around £2000 each, the deals are there if you look...

What were your favorite spots in Hawaii? How different did it feel from the mainland USA? A friend of mine went there and posted photos. Looked really nice.

At a Finnish forum a nice guy seems to be very entangled with alcohol these days. He lost his wife and two children in their divorce, and now he's taken up the bottle for real. I suppose he has became a "professional", and as he've become unemployed, he can't drag himself up from the bottom of the pit.

So sad.

My favourite islands are Maui & Kauai as they are less built up & there are plenty of deserted places. Honolulu feels more like the mainland, but it's very built up & quite a big city, hard to believe you are on a tiny island when you are there! All the shops that the mainland has are there, even American tourists were shocked to see Walmart etc..
