I was assuming it was a relatively safe neighborhood. I'm not used to people bringing firearms with them, didn't think about that. That being said, I never cross slowlier as it impacts other drivers. When crossing a street, always look the driver right in the eye, seems to work better. Then there's the Swiss, they throw themselves on the zebra crossing no matter how close the approaching car is.

In France it seems that nobody stops for you at a zebra crossing.. in the UK it is a pedestrian's right of way and cars have to stop and generally do 95% of the time.. in France when I'm there it seems like nobody stops or that you just have to force your way out
Ugh, I'm dreading going back home for thanksgiving. I will have to deal with my parents super conservative rules again. Hopefully, there is a good chance of snow accumulation. Otherwise I will be bummed, LOL .

Me and a friend have been talking about possibly renting a place together in the city centre, since it would save on money. Things have gotten way more expensive than I remembered.

Not here either. Ok, maybe some 20-30% stop for pedestrians even if they would have to. The more traffic light heavy the area is, the less the motorists stop. If you have a kid, the possibliity rises a bit. In Sweden and Norway it's totally different, cars always stop for pedestrians.
I would like to try out a restaurant, Demo, in Helsinki. Damn as I can't afford it. €75 for a 5 course and 102 for a 7 course dinner.
But it would be fun as they have no menu, they just put together whatever fresh they can find and you just have to eat what they serve you.
Whatever, microwave meal instead.
