Got rejected for my offer in my dream location. Tables were turned, and they decided not to move forward with my application as I didn't match their interests . That leave's me with one offer at the hooks in a unfavorable location. Well, a man has got to work, how ever terrible his climate may be. As a last resort, I have no other choice but to pursue onwards .
Man I suck at oral presentations. I wrote a great and well-thought paragraph to turn in, but what I said about it in front of the class barely made sense. It's so awkward trying to speak to people all the way across the room.

Bummer, sorry to hear that. If you have to work at the yucky location, is it just for the summer?
Just keep your eye on the main prize, where you'll end up after you finish grad school.

Yeah, and that opportunity has a much lower degree of certainty.
More like I'm approaching an abyss. I thought it was possible to get jobs after finishing my undergrad. Nope, not enough. Hence, I'm en route to getting my graduate degree. I've gone through more interviews, but end result is the same. The way it looks like, I'll be staying in academia, forever. Professors are paid well and have much more autonomy in their jobs, but it takes so freaking long to become one . Also, acceptance rate for professorship is very competitive.
You know one German rail company which got really wealthy in WWII? Do you know why?
- They promised the Jews a ticket back.
That's really funny, because I heard this on national television. It warms my heart we still can say these things. Such a poor joke, but because it was on national TV it's actually great.
