it doesn't mean that there's a 40% of thunderstorms the whole week, just each day has a 40% chance. If you miss thunderstorms one day, you might have a high chance of getting it another day. When did you go to Florida the first time? Did you stick around by the ocean most of the time? The sea breezes might have made it feel more tolerable.

Being surprised that Florida feels hotter than Spain in the summer is a bit odd.
Well, Spain isn't muggy compared to Florida, though. Spain's summers (at least in the interior) are the same as CA's Central Valley.

Maybe it felt cooler from sea breezes. I find a breeze can make high humidity less bothersome, and the highs might have been slightly cooler. You're going to the beach eventually, so it'll get better. But now you understand why I wouldn't want to go to Florida in the summer.

Agree.

I really like Florida best in the fall, October is fantastic,
mid 80s high, mid 60s lows, everyday like clockwork.
I've only been to Florida once in summer, Tampa/Clearwater Beach,
lightning just about every afternoon around 3 pm.
BUt much better than being in SW deserts in summer.
Went to Vegas in July once, wow it was hot, felt sick the entire time.

Oh it's not that bad. Lot of summer days up here are like that. Welcome to America, enjoy your stay although NorthStarDelight did warn you several times before you got on the airplane

Lol, I think I'm the only one on here crazy enough to spend entire summers in the tropics. But, hey, that's when I had off from school so like I had a choice.
