I moved to Florida for a reason from the northeast.... I can much easier deal w/ the hot and humid summers than I can the brutal cold of the north in the winter!

I'd like both in the same year. I picked Chicago though.

I think if this question were asked around the holiday season, a much higher percentage would pick Chicago.

But when people just witnessed in many northern locations, the first site of green ripe leaves in full bloom and long days, the timing to go back into winter is not a popular time to win support for Chicago winter.

Try the same question at the Thanksgiving table and answer will be different.

Here's a shocker. The thermometer has hit 100 degrees in Miami ONE time since records have been kept.

In Chicago? It happens fairly regularly in the summer.

Miami is wonderful in the summer.

Miami doesn't hit 100 but the Heat Index sure does go well over 100. It's not about the heat, it's the humidity. And it's common to see dewpoint temperatures in the mid to upper 70s without fail.

The one year Miami did have an unusual anomaly and approach close to 100 degrees was actually seen as a welcomed relief on the part of the heat index because that would only occur when the dew point is low enough to cause the real temperature to rise. Ironically, during these episodes the night time low reaches record low and this is as comfortable it can possibly get in Florida summer and it's still not too comfortable.

I would choose Miami over Chicago in any month of the year without a thought.
