I keep forgetting to include personal insults in my posts. It's the only way to be involved in discussions on this website.

If you are that fussy, then most "climate battle" polls would be unfair, considering us american 1981-2010 data gets compared with 1971-2000 or even 1961-1990 data from other places around the world.
And don't forget the wrong yearly sunhours of the us climate tables.

I did think before that you were just a bit deluded, but am now totally convinced you are just a troll
Yes, the US South is a HUGE geographic region, and thus the climate varies depending on where you are. The inland and/or mountainous areas of the South of course will see snowfall every winter. But in the Coastal Areas of the South, snowfall is a "couple times a generation" thing at best, and is far from regular. And some areas of the Coastal South (Texas, Florida, Louisiana) are warmer than others (Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina). You can grow subtropical/tropical crops successfully in the Coastal South.

There is no empirical evidence that the cold seen in the South the most extreme of any subtropical region. That is nonsense. And outside of weather, the South has lots of attractive elements from big cities like H-Town and Miami, to beautiful beaches with coconuts, to nice, friendly, and gentle people, to the warm, humid climate, and year-round greenery.

And you act like a troll sometimes with your ludicrous posts about "subtropical" Portsmouth or all the supposed plants you grow in that cold rainy climate. You can't grow a decent orange anywhere in the UK, NOLA can. So what part of the US South have you visited?
