True. Nothing is a perfect correlation, everything is a marriage of sorts. Lots of players involved. BUT.. The sunspotless time in 2011 was a day or so. It doesn't mean the month was spotless. That would be insane.

Looking at the data, looks like sunspots picked up late in 2011. Does that mean it still correlates...Probably No...but I'm sure it's part of the marriage somehow.

In fact.. 2011-12 we were at a spiking high point before the big drop. Did the solar spike help that warm winter (which was my warmest on record)

This graph compares a previous cycle to current. http://www.leif.org/research/SC14-and-24.png

Remember 2 key things....

Lag Time
The Marriage

No tomatoes yet?

Mine are about that size and they went in much later than yours. I think they were 6 inches in height when they went in.

Are they in full sun?

Same amount of sun as previous 7 yrs and this is the latest without a red one. Although I don't know about how much cloudier its been here compared to previous yrs. Maybe that's the case? And the late Spring start?

Did you buy yours from the store and plant it? If from seed that's impressive. Otherwise the store plants are on steroids to make them look stocky so they get a kick start. lol

We should compare temps. Curious if there's any slight or big differences past 6 weeks. You're warmer than me right now. 77F vs 73F & clouds.

That is probably why, they were from the store.

I'd rather have them grow faster than the seed ones.

I don't blame you. I have 50 plants so it wouldn't be worth it for me to spend $$ buying them. Plus I like different variety. Plus I'm more organic then they are. They start those in greenhouses injecting them with fertilizer then ship right to the store. Never is in the ground and that was the killer this year. Ground was cold till mid June. (usually warm enough end of May)

Here are a few photos I took on my phone the other morning at about 5am.. was drunk out of my face and had walked 2 miles home as I ran out of money for a cab! For some reason I took some photos because it looked cool haha..

This is a house near my street.. Herbert Hoover stayed here multiple time apparently! If you zoom in enough there is a placard on the front saying so

And finally this is just my 'snack' the other day.. I caved in and munched out on this as it had been 2 weeks since I had eaten junk food

Still no red ones. Been gardening for a decade and only once was this late. Same varieties including some different ones.

P.S - I think it's time for a new phone.
