Sacramento as it's far sunnier and drier.

Both summery. One is hotter, one is sunnier. Both have summers, neither is "more summery" than the other...

I don't understand why some people think summers should ONLY be sunny and dry. Convective precipitation with high humidity and enough precipitation where everything is lush and green is just as "summery" as dry and sunny weather. And DC's average mean temperatures are higher than Sacramento's (noticeably so as well).

I guess it depends where you live & what you are used to... In Med type climates summer = dry & sunny, also in places such as the UK decent summer weather is classed as being dry & sunny...

I don't get it either. High dewpoints definitely add to the heat effect.

But just because you don't get wet summer weather doesn't you should think it feels less summery.

I understand that, but the way certain people on here talk it seems they would think Los Angeles is more "summery" than Miami, simply because it's drier and sunnier in summer.

Besides, it's not like DC has any shortage of sunshine in summer. It still averages over 60% possible sunshine....a place doesn't need to have 95% sunshine to be "sunny". Most of it's precipitation are from convective, short-lived thunderstorms anyways. I would imagine a day that's completely cloudy in DC in summer isn't too common.
