Melt pavements... I don't think so, but it depends on the material used for pavements.

Set flowers on fire: yes! There are a lot of fires caused by heat and droughts.

Typical UK over-sensational eye catching headlines. Apparently they use tarmac for roads in the UK which do not have a high heat threshold.

Parts of the M25 near here were built with concrete slabs, which are noisy and bumpy. Tarmac is much smoother and quieter.

Lol the Daily Fail is a terrible terrible 'newspaper'

Always over-sensationalizing. Every year the same thing happens a few times each summer. If the temperature is expected to be a few degrees above average, say even just 26C-28C and sunny for a few days.. then the Daily Mail will write a headline such as 'BRITAIN TO BASK IN SIZZLING HEATWAVE!'

It is so annoying.. we average 28 days above 78F/25C each year but they feel the need to make it out like some sort of heatwave when really it is cool in comparison to most other countries!

There is a section of concrete on the M1 in Leeds and it's very rough and loud.

it is only 91F, we don't get below that on some summer nights. When it gets to 46c, then you can talk.

Roads are not made to withstand heat there.
