Spain is the place for the high temp/late sunset combo. Today's sunset times and average July high (C):

Leon 22:01 27.2
Valladolid 21:55 28.3
Madrid 21:47 32.1
Seville 21:47 36.0
Cordoba 21:43 36.9

It's actually because of Spain's wrong timezone. Sunrise is about 6.30-7am

I love Spain's timezone.. seems far more sensible to have later sunsets when people are awake, instead of sunrise at 5am when very few people are awake.. makes economic sense and saves power/electricity

AC? AC can operate longer in evenings though, because of the hot. And AC obviously needs much more energy than lights.

Yes, I am saying it makes far more sense to have later sunsets though

Saves energy wasted on lights when people are still awake in the evening, and therefore money.. which Spain could damn well use a lot of right now

I would have a 7:30 PM sunset with a high of 80 F and dewpoints around 46 F for summer .

But AC uses more more energy. Thats the reason why no DST in most of Arizona.

Assume 7pm = arrive at home, 1 hr after sunset = stop AC
8pm sunset vs 9pm sunset in a hot (high of 80F or more) summer --> the 9pm sunsets means 3 hours of AC (7-10) insead of 2 hours (7-9)
