Too late, I have found it. I don't get why they never say things like that for games in the US, I doubt they would comment on that in Seattle or Pittsburgh for instance? Today has been non-stop sunshine, and tomorrow will be the same.
I think the majority of fans are UK based, and they sell out for the novelty factor.
Probably because those two cities both get quite a bit more sunshine during the course of the year than London so those kind of comments would be less warranted.

Seattle has less sun than London in late autumn and winter. Pittsburg is sunnier in October and barely sunnier in November (before you adjust the US values). They seem to be surprised that they see the sun at all, or that it isn't rainy/foggy. I bet you don't hear the US commentators being so surprised at a sunny day in those places in autumn or winter.
If you take 200 hrs off the US values, Seattle gets 1950 hours and Pittsburgh gets 1800 hours. That's not that much more than London, and less than our south coast.
