Of course, I like to see pics and u tube videos but it's always nice to see real lightning for the only time of the year (pretty much around here).

Oh cool. There were three flashes in about 2 seconds. Might be getting more intense.

The one is the pictures was pretty intense. It was about 10/20 miles in the distance but it was flashing like that for an hour. Every 5 seconds there was a flash like that, I had honestly never seen anything like it. That was East of the city though, not sure if the City ever get anything like that.

Well that was nice. Didn't really get within about 4 miles really but quite a bit of interest and lightning every 15-20 seconds maybe at its peak.

This is just early stuff though, the day has lots of potential (not that we'll necessarily get in on it) but who knows.

Looking at the radar I C that the precip echoes were all to the west of here hence why we didn't get it within 4-5 miles. Manchester looks to be getting a direct hit though. Lucky buggers.

Holy crap did that escalate!

Massive storm at about 3:30AM. Huge CG bolts right outside of the window, really loud gunshot thunder, probably the best storm Buxtons had in years. Power cut temporarily.

So now in the month of July, Buxton has seen CG lightning and Lexington in the midwestern US has not. I give up.
