It is interesting how the Barkerville, BC is closest to places 10,000 km away in China. Same goes for Tatlayoko Lake, BC.

Other things I've noticed:
- Northway, Alaska is closer to some Siberia locations than anywhere in Alaska.
- Hope, BC is closer to places in Germany and France than anywhere in BC.

Those complaining that the 'similar climates' are right next to your area (Joe90 & Deneb78) you can always adjust that bar and see farther places - Mostly, the 99% ones are in your region, so scroll the bar handle to the right and you'll see MORE cities. Not to mention, if you check "shift months", you'll see the similar climates in the southern (or northern hemisphere).

(This is about Codeminders or the 'second link')

The "similar places" aren't always very similar. For example, it doesn't take into account diurnal range or precipitation. You can have two places that are 99% the same, but really they are very different because one is very dry with a large diurnal range, while the other is very wet with a low diurnal range.

The second link gave Beckley, WV and Highlands, NC along with Pecs and Budapest, Hungary and Timisoara, Romania. It's very correct considering temperature.
