It's really weird that the grass is yellow in South Carolina. Is that because of lack of rain? Here we had almost two weeks of sub-freezing temperatures, plus snow on top of it that lied/laid? (whatever...) for more than a week, and when the snow melted on Monday the grass was still green and still is green today. It will be still some time before our grass turns brown here.

The grass in SC is warm-season grass. It's green during the growing season and brown during the rest of the year. Cool-season grass found in the northern U.S. stays greener throughout the winter.

Haha yeah the grass there was just as brown if not more than Kentucky.

Everything looks greener where I'm eating lunch in southeast Georgia. It's sunny here and even though it's only 59F/15C, I'm loving the higher sun angle!

Temp was so low this morning that steam was coming out of the water on the Assinaboine River.

No, it is not frozen over yet, even though we have had 15 days where temp didn't rise above 0C. and EVERY day this month had a low below 0C.

So I am pretty surprised that some rivers are frozen over in locations south of here.

Also, steam coming out of manholes.
