The more I look, the more I'm impressed so I figured I start a thread on it. Feel free to post yours or a location you know if July 2014 was within Top 20 coolest or coldest

I'll try to keep this updated as I get more info in.

From NWS Arkansas.. Leaving discussion in case link goes bad. Nice they explain the pattern we had..

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LITTLE ROCK AR
529 AM CDT FRI AUG 1 2014

...JULY 2014...ONE OF THE COLDEST ON RECORD IN ARKANSAS...

JULY PROVED TO BE RATHER COOL OVER MUCH OF ARKANSAS. THIS TIME OF
YEAR...BLOCKING HIGH PRESSURE TENDS TO BE THE DOMINANT WEATHER
PATTERN IN THE MID SOUTH AND MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN UNITED STATES.
HOWEVER...THIS YEAR...THE HIGH PRESSURE WAS SHUNTED SOUTHWEST AND WEST
OF THE REGION...ALLOWING NORTHWEST AND NORTHERLY UPPER LEVEL WIND FLOW
TO DRIVE SEVERAL SYSTEMS THROUGH THE STATE. MUCH COOLER AIR AND ABUNDANT
CLOUD COVER TENDED TO FOLLOW THESE SYSTEMS. THE RESULT WAS A MONTH WHICH
SAW TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE IN MUCH OF THE STATE.

AT MANY LOCATIONS...THESE TEMPERATURES MADE FOR THE COOLEST JULY ON
RECORD...BE IT AVERAGE HIGH...LOW OR MONTHLY TEMPERATURE. PRELIMINARY
INDICATIONS ARE THAT...STATEWIDE...THIS HAS BEEN THE COLDEST JULY
SINCE 1967...AND QUITE LIKELY THE COLDEST ON RECORD. A FINAL DETERMINATION
ON THIS RANKING WILL COME AFTER FINAL QUALITY CONTROL OF DATA HAS BEEN
MADE BY THE NATIONAL CLIMATIC DATA CENTER.

IN TERMS OF AVERAGE TEMPERATURE...THIS HAS BEEN THE COLDEST JULY IN
OVER 100 YEARS AT MOUNTAIN HOME...HARDY...PINE BLUFF AND CAMDEN. JULY
2014 AT SEVERAL OTHER LOCATIONS...SUCH AS LITTLE ROCK...MAY NOT HAVE ENDED
UP RANKING AS THE ALL-TIME COLDEST...BUT WAS DEFINITELY IN THE TOP FIVE
COLDEST.

ALL DATA LISTED BELOW ARE PRELIMINARY UNTIL FINAL QUALITY CONTROL
BY THE NATIONAL CLIMATIC DATA CENTER IN ASHEVILLE NORTH CAROLINA.

.AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE...

AT THE STATIONS LISTED BELOW...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR JULY
WAS THE COLDEST ON RECORD.

Pittsburgh's 13th coolest, facilitated by an airport 20 mi west of downtown (less UHI) and at a much higher elevation (~340 m vs. 224 m at The Point). Being on a plateau, it's not exactly a cold spot, but still...

Will pull up the Twitter if I feel like it later.

Memphis Airport: 78.0 (6th coldest)
Jackson, TN: 74.1 (coldest on record)
Jonesboro, AR: 75.3 (coldest on record)
Tupelo, MS: 76.5 (coldest on record)

It's pretty difficult for months to even get in the Top 10 at Memphis since records go back to 1875 and because of the airport UHI.

One of the hottest months ever here, but one day during the month only made it to 14.9C/59F, which would be classified as a record cold high. The 2nd coldest day of the month was 24.2C/76F. Daily Data Report for July 2014

It's been a hot month here. I don't believe any records were set other than I believe a heat record was broken here on July 16th if i'm not mistaken.
The high temperature never dropped below 20.
