I guess so but I think it less icy in Bergen. January has been an awful month in Oslo. I hate slush and icy sidewalks. I would much rather have 50 cm (19") snow and -10°C (14°F) every single day.

Me too, I'd rather have that as well. It's been much better than last year though at least.
Not really but Northern Britain has seen a decent amount of snow especially over the hills.
I only saw a dusting and its all melted.
