We got around 5cm, on top of the 38cm already on the ground

I think you're getting more snow tomorrow in the early hours

OMG

BOTTOM LINE: Some West Pacific tropical cyclone forcing on mid-latitude circulation is being highlighted by the GFS model during the upcoming week. This interaction appears to aid in Rossby wave dispersion across the Western Hemisphere, aiding in a strong arctic air mass intrusion over the eastern two thirds of the U.S. during the early 11-15 day period forecast. A CONUS HDD average 11-15 day period aggregate value of 160-170 HDDs is not of the question here, especially since today’s 12Z GFS ensembles came in at 180 HDDs.
West Pacific Tropical Cyclone interaction with Mid-Latitudes later this week? « WSI Blog

We were only supposed to struggle to get a high temp in the low 20'sF today after a supposed low temp of 13F. Shows how wrong they can be even a few hours before. Our low temp was no lower than 20F early this morning, and our high temp this afternoon went over 30F. No snow cover here and that helps.

Poor New England. All that snow and cold to go along with their football win. I don't like that they won the game, but I take solace in the fact their weather has socked them good.

Now if only their vaunted parade can get canceled yet again lol.

Winter 2014 2015 in indianapolis has been much less severe in terms of extreme cold so far, but the even bigger news has been the snowfall or rather the lack of it in indianapolis, this winter so far has been a joke with the city of indianapolis logging a little more than 7 inches of snowfall since November 2014. January 2015 was more than 5 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than last year's January monthly average temperature of 20.1 Degrees Fahrenheit, owing to the lack of a substantial snowpack, the coldest it got at the airport in indianapolis was 7 below zero versus the 15 below zero seen just last year. Indianapolis saw 12 nights last winter that fell below zero with 8 of those days happening in January alone, this winter season in indianapolis has only seen 3 nights of sub zero low temperatures and none are in the forecast for at least the next several days.
