It's over? Well... I guess but not until after a couple more times of arctic air blasts...

but March might end up below normal at this pace too. Not sure about historic but we have some blasts of cold coming but yeah, 30s will feel warmer. I don't see many 40s but Im sure we'll hit it a few times next 14 days.

You ready for more snow? This evening and again Wed night and Thursday. Sorry

I'm not seeing much snow in my forecast for Wed night to Thurs, but the NWS isn't putting forecast amounts.

It's over, March won't be nearly as cold as February, rising average temps and a changing pattern won't allow for it. And any snow that falls won't be around for long, unlike February. The 5" we received less than 48 hours ago is largely gone.

Ahh, gotcha. So the actual temps and duration of snowpack. Pattern we are in still is a winter pattern.

But 20s/30s in March is same as teens/ 20s in February. No?

Its gonna be cold for March standards. And snowpack not going anywhere without any 40s or 50s or fog or rain. I guess most folks are happy about the moderation but don't realize we'll still be cold for the time of year.

NWS NY

THEREAFTER...MEAN TROUGHING CONTINUES INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.
UNSEASONABLY COLD CONDS (ABOUT 20 DEGREES BELOW SEASONABLE)

NWS Taunton

*/ THURSDAY NIGHT ONWARD...

WINTER DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT IS GOING TO END ANY TIME SOON

Check it out...

So EURO00z last night said Danbury, CT would be at 12.7°F at 12z this morning.

The Actual temp was.. 2°F!!! Models still and continue to underestimate the cold & snowpack.

So does that mean Friday morning and Saturday morning it will be sub zero?

And here are the lows Friday morning from the GFS. We rarely go into the single digits here in March. Only 9 times in last 67 years. NUTS!

Based on that map, March record lows will be threatened at PIT, Martinsburg WV, Dulles, D.C. (way overdone! Lowest during last month's Arctic invasions was 5F, and March record is 4F from 1873), BWI, Harrisburg PA, Wilmington DE, and Philly. At Dulles and BWI that would be the 2nd-consecutive year of nearing their monthly low benchmarks. Really time to move the official station from BWI back into the City.
